The White Stripes new single is here. Icky Thump is apparently from our own Northern term of Ecky Thump.. which for those who live beyond our valleys and mills won't know it's on old term used as a mark of exclamation. Long gone are those days as now it's fuck this and cock that. You're all potty mouths....bring back times of old eh, when max life expectancy was in your 30's and toilets were a small hole in a cobbled road shared by everyone on your street.... Ahhh.... I've Heard this single 3 times now and I don't like it. It's some awful metal thing with some nasty prog overtones. I do like The White Stripes though and Jack White is supremely talented. I just think this is crap rock music....

What their label says...

The White Stripes are back.·They’re releasing their first material for nearly two years with the new single, ‘Icky Thump’, which also is the title track of their forthcoming sixth album.   ‘Icky Thump’ is already being hailed as a triumphant return and also comes with two other new tracks, ‘Baby Brother’ and ‘Catch Hell Blues’.   This June is a particularly busy time for the band in the UK. In addition to this single release, they’ve also announced a cover mounted one-sided etched red 7” of the track ‘Rag And Bone’ (only available on the cover of the NME)
