What their label says...

Things have been quiet recently for Staalplaat and their Mort Aux Vaches series, but now they’re up and running again with music recorded at VPRO radio in Amsterdam in April 2006 by Ukrainian experimental and electronic music pioneer Andrey Kiritchenko, one of the premier Eastern European artists in the field. Using laptop, autoharp and a guitar, Kiritchenko pulls out crackles, hiss, and processed field recordings to add contrast to what is, overall, rather nice warm ambient glitch music built around blurred beats and electroacoustic “accidentals”. Somewhere half-way between Fennesz and microsound, and cut in to one long piece, this is moody and atmospheric music, never overly abstract with the guitar tones or autoharp drones. Another great addition to the Mort Aux Vaches audio encylopedia of modern music, limited to 500 copies in the series’ trademark unusuall packaging, this time in a fold-over screen-printed hallucinogenic opaque pvc sleeve.
