Two releases from Mordant Music- which is also the name of the label- "Carrion Squared" is a spooked & slightly unsettling and dark largely keyboard and FX dominated collection of brief vignettes ideal for film, TV scenes or wrong brain soundtracks. If used for TV they'd probably be used for some 'end of the world' type scenario or doomed 'celebrity lifestyle' episodes. Think woozy Boards of Canada tracks or a slightly pissed Jean Michel Jarre even..."The Tower Parts viii-xviii" is one lengthy Psych-prog wig-out for fans of knob twiddling, keyboard noodling aficionados keen on staring into the middle distance (dribbling no doubt...hahaha). as with "Carrion Squared", this could be a soundtrack, in this case for some otherworldly colony of aliens in steel hot pants. Warmly infectious in parts, disturbing in others but mostly tripped out. Watch out hippies as is does tend to get a bit industrial towards the end.
