Hot Chip are the latest to take to the wheels for K7!'s DJ Kicks series. They pull out 24 tracks that include disco, soul, funk, electropop, rap and techno. Their track selection isn't obvious and shows that their influences have an extremely broad range. I'm no fan of Hot Chip but I take my hat off to anyone that can dig deep into the crates. Artists include Grosvenor, Positive K, Gramme, Subway, Soundhack, Tom Ze, Wax Stag, New Order, Young Leek, Etta James & Sugar Pie De Santo, Black Devil Disco Club, Dominik Euelberg, Grauzone, This Heat, Wookie, Gabriel Ananda, Marek Bois, Lanark, Um, Noze, Audion, Joe Jackson and Ray Charles. You could put this on when you got mates round and no one's going to get too upset.
