On release of their debut album ‘Turn Against This Land’ in 2005, DOGS were hailed as ‘"Britain's most exhilarating new band” (The Sunday Times). An understandable accolade for a band who have so firmly marked their return with an exuberance both rare and powerful, but one that anyone who knows and loves DOGS agrees is only befitting for such a band. Three fast, furious and insanely infectious singles: the exhilarating ‘Soldier On’, the riff laden ‘This Stone Is Bullet’ (on the strength of which, MySpace hailed them – understandably - as a ‘Recommended Artist’) and the euphoric latest offering ‘Dirty Little Shop’. All tasters for the great things to come, offered around a packed out UK tour, including a sold-out, frenzied Mean Fiddler gig (stage invasions and crowd surfing as standard). Now DOGS are set to release their brand new album ‘Tall Stories From Under The Table’. An album of twelve individual, addictive and hungry tracks, each one with the power, edge and honest realness signature to DOGS’ sound, but with a diversity and progression musically and lyrically, that few bands achieve with such clarity and conviction on their second album. From the introspective musings and acoustic strumming of ‘Chained To No One’ (“so I’m half the man that I want to be, but is the other half coming on quite fast, well I’d wash that ruddy man away from me”), to the anthemic, indie-punk drum build on ‘Forget It All’, dripping with gut twistingly souring guitars and emotive, driven vocals. Then there’s ‘These Days’, screaming to indie dance-floors everywhere with fired pounding drums and chugging guitars, and lets not forget ‘By The River’, epic in it’s melodic, intricate guitar riffs and smoky throated whispered vocals, building up over thudding, impeding drums. ‘Tall Stories From Under The Table’ is out on Monday 4thJune on Weekender DOGS have been confirmed to play T in the Park and Oxygen festivals this Summer. More love dates to follow. “Dogs are fierce, like the feral creatures from which they’ve taken their name. They’re astonishing” – NME "A refreshingly straight up blast of pedigree rock" – Music Week
