1990's: "See you at the lights" on Rough Trade (produced by Bernard Butler). Bit of a premature name for this outfit and I''m intrigued as to the circumstance for naming themselves after a decade. Bright, breezy pop that doesn't seem to have a care in the world. If I was fronting a band today I think I'd be more directly political. Imagine achieving the mean feat of writing a catchy chorus with a ba-da-ba-dah refain that attacks the bumbling idiocy of the Bush/Blair axis. Now there's a challenge!
