The releases from Spectac and Charlie Alex March on Lo offshoot Loaf were incredibly popular with you good people. This week we are very fortunate to offer you their latest release from VINCENT OLIVER a week before it's available elsewhere! so many thanks to Loaf for that. 'EP2' is available in 2 different versions. A standard CD and a limited version housed in a 12" sleeve with exclusive print by Ivan Zouravilov. We recieved an email asking if there was some special way to retrieve the disc from the sealed package over the screen prints on the previous releases. Nope was the reply. You have to injur the art to access the music hahahahaha.! This is a charming blend of ideas comprising of warm, melodic electronics some where between DNTEL, Bjork, Aphex etc. The palette of sounds is diverse and ranges from piano to Colleen style twinkles and stuttering beats. He uses his vocals to add another dimension to proceedings and it works remarkably well. Single of the freakin week. -Ant x

Vincent Oliver is back with a new EP........ from the man himself:

EP2, what’s it all about?
tits, mostly. but actually, there’s no real narrative running through it. it’s a collection of pieces that were written at different times.. but inevitably there are recurring themes in almost everything i do. I think everything i write will be about tits, ultimately. it’s all sex.. everything i do.

Can you tell us something about the songs on the new EP?
‘Buckets of Hen’s Feathers’
The title of the track is something my mother says when she burns her finger or something but doesn’t want to swear. When you do gigs far from home you meet lots of people. Girls. They could be really special. I certainly am. This song is about the trouble that girls have showing me their tits, even if I’m leaving the next morning. I’ve found myspace to be a great aid with this, ‘cos girls start talking to you through it and then when you meet in real life you have a springboard for conversations and there is more trust and stuff.

‘I Want It All’
I was lying on the couch at my parent’s house watching some bollocks on the TV at 4 or 5 in the morning. I was getting extremely frustrated that I wasn’t in the biggest place doing the most dramatic thing with the best people. I have such an appetite. I want it all.

‘Her Doorbell’
The sole sound source for this piece is a recording of the doorbell at number 6 Beverley Road, New Malden. It was recorded by Olivia, She had been a good friend of mine for a few years, but I’d only recently started touching her tits. The piece inadequately and awkwardly tries to reflect what it was like standing on her doorstep when I was waiting for her to answer.

‘Cluods in the Haed’
I found life a terrible struggle when I was young. I used to fantasize about being diagnosed with something terrible. Then I’d find out that I’d actually been coping pretty well, considering I had this extra thing to deal with.

Please tell us something about the artwork?
It’s drawn by the same illustrator as the first EP, of course. Vania Zouravliov. Since then, though, I really feel like I understand his work more so I had a bit more input this time. I talked to him about the kind of thing I’d like it to be and let him go nuts with it. He sent me a sketch and some instructions so that I could pose and take some photo’s. I sent the photo’s back and let him “work up a illustration shitstorm” (his words). It’s beautiful isn’t it? Embarrassing facial expression to pose, though. Great lad. I hope he’ll continue to do all Vincent Oliver stuff. Build up a strong identity together.
