Now then I have SUR LA MER which is an album taster entitled Prelude to the
Sea. It's the work of Atsu Nagayama of the Boredoms , who plays most of the instruments herself, but gets help from people like Dino, Julie Lui (of Rex and Tortoise), Jason Dermott, Kim Ambriz (Rabbit Rabbit) and Fred Erskine (June of '44 and Hoover). Its noodling, twisting post rock with violins, cellos and brass. UI with Tindersticks strings. 4 really lovely bass led tracks that could be the sound track to a nice bowl of cornflakes..... with banana slices

What their label says...
Sur LA Mer is the brainchild of Atsu Nagayama (The Boredoms, The Prescriptions), who wrote and arranged all of the material for the debut EP. Atsu enlisted help of friends Dino, Julie Lui (Rex, Tortoise), Jason McDermott, Kim Ambriz (Rabbit Rabbit), and Fred Erskine (June of '44, Hoover) when it came time to record. The results speak for themselves - provocative, captivating, ambient instrumental bliss. The debut EP, Prelude to the Sea, was recorded at Doug Scharin's Chicago studio in 2002. Eight additional tracks from the same time period are slated for release in the near future.
