The follow up to 2005’s ‘We Are Little Barrie’ is a much more rockin’ affair co-produced by Dan The Automator and features the Blues Explosion’s Russell Simins on drums. A year on from their critically acclaimed debut, Little Barrie make a startling return with their new album ‘Stand Your Ground’. A year spent immersing themselves in the rock’n’roll abandon of Gene Vincent, The Cramps and The Sonics – all recent mainstays on the Little Barrie stereo – has lent the album a tauter, leaner and more immediate sound, yet ‘Stand Your Ground’ still retains the signature funk and soul of their debut. Following the departure of Wayne Fulwood, the bands drummer and co-founder, front man Barrie Codogan and bass player Lewis Wharton commandeered the services of Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins and close friend Billy Skinner to provide the tougher, edgier beats that characterize the new record.  ·Recording was split over two sessions; commencing in New York with co-producer Dan ‘The Automator’ Nakamura and then completed in London with producer Mike Pelanconi and Billy Skinner, now officially installed as Little Barrie’s new drummer.
