BRITTLE BEHAVIOUR is the new 16 track space lounge compendium from Tom, the guy behind gerbil-rave practitioners MAPS & DIAGRAMS. His CACTUS ISLAND label has been putting out tiny little colour coded CDs of warm, minimal electronic squawkings since about 2004 or summat & now a load of his regular contributors have been forced at gunpoint to record new tracks for this fine new limited sampler/compo jobbie. I'd like to invent a new genre for this kind of langurous, itchy micro music but the only thing i can still think about is smal furry mammals lying around on tiny foutons in impossibly stylish dresing gowns reading copies of 'Rodent weekly' whilst sipping Campari & lemon. Possibly smoking little mouse size gauloises. Eating micro pate on toast & chilling with nary a care in the world. I think if you've heard 'Reframing' by EU or a lot of stuff on the Expanding labe,l this chilled & atmospheric journey of glitchy, fluttery chilled electronix will delight. I know I'm digging it. Just would rather Davros the Hamster review this cos I caught his tail twitching manically with pleasure during the Soundhacker track.
