What their label says...
Re-press of the Acid Mothers Classic - their first release on a UK label, and one that’s been out of print for around a year. Highest profile release from the Japanese psychedelic collective, a re-issue of the originally vinyl-only album from early 2001 with 40 minutes of exclusive bonus material as well as the original album in full, spread across two CDs - 120 minutes in total). lIncludes ‘Supernal Infinite Space’, as featured on Gus Van Sant’s Palme D’Or-winning film ‘Elephant’. Widely considered to be their finest and most ambitious/varied work, ‘Absolutely Freak Out’ prompted numerous glowing reviews and features on the band including pieces in The Sunday Times, Uncut, Mojo (a 2 page article written by Julian Cope!), 3 pages in Record Collector and the full front cover of The Wire plus 8 pages of editorial! This is a split release between UK indie labels Resonant and Static Caravan, and transports the listener on a trip through the coolest weird and wonderful sounds, taking in ambient electronics, traditional folk and full on wall of sound guitar noise en route.
