Now an self titled album by musical collective THE FLOWERS OF HELL on Earworm records. Its a psychedelic journey using a whole host of wonderful instruments and sounds. They've name checked Spiritualized so saving me the time and Phil reckons they sound like the more opium den side to Bardo Pond. There are some truly rousing ecstatic moments of beauty in this work and other times, when it drifts on a violin line, its like the space you get when solitude wraps you up and takes you as her own. Very warm. X

What their label says...

Produced with Tim Holmes of Death In Vegas at the Contino Rooms, their self titled debut album comes following a trio of releases for Shifty Disco's singles club. Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3/Spectrum/E.A.R.) collaborates on 'Through The F Hole' and helped the band achieve the sound they were after for the album. For mastering, the group tracked down Denis Blackham who's credits include Kraftwerk's 'Autobahn' and classic releases from Elvis, The Who, Led Zeppelin, & T Rex. John Kennedy at Xfm has been an early supporter, spinning an excerpt from 'Opt Out' on his Xposure show a number of times already. The Flowers Of Hell's recordings and live shows have been drawing praise from a host of credible acts including British Sea Power, The Telescopes,.The Clientele, Ecstasy Of St. Theresa, and The Early Years as well as ex-Spiritualized/Spacemen 3 members Will Carruthers, Johnny Mattock, & Mark Refoy. Additionally, London bookers for the shoegaze revival clubs AC30, Sonic Cathedral, & Take Me To The Other Side have all hotly tipped them. Reaching beyond the indie ghetto, the Flowers Of Hell have had their works come out on just under 2 million mainstream newspaper & magazine covermounts, on such publications as The Daily Star, Eve Magazine, & Red Magazine.
