So as a relaxing, infant soothing soundtrack they could plump for this lovely
French CD by GYPSOPHILE. Obviously not Daily Mail readers then. Hahaha.
(it's an ingredient found in soil apparently, is gypsum) This is twinkling low
key claassically minded folk with sporadic smoky jazz flourishes, backwards
masked abstract samples & whimsical vocals. Swaying laments that inhabit
ground somewhere between Hood, early Tindersticks, Tortoise
& an avant-garde corner cafe troupe. Oh I do so cherish the word organic
(for it sums up this album's intimate, pure melancholy). It saves me so much
head stress it really does. This is a collection of bravely experimental
downtempo loveliness that has fantastical gatefold artwork that i could imagine
adorning the pages of Philip Pullman's Northern Lights trilogy. Really
pretty good. (we also have 2 more CD's on the label but we only had time to play
one of 'em!) Listen
to it here!!
