Most intrigued by this MELODIUM CD. He's been going for ages, clocking up numerous releases of gentle, warm electronic music for various labels, notably
Static Caravan & his homies, AutresDirections.
A new disc of such loveliness has crashed into my
consciousness this week. 'Music for Invisible People' is it's name. It
proper lulls you in with it's gentle swaying bedroom pop. This is music
from the heart, lilting, tuneful, with barely audible muffled lyrics
buried under swathes of ear caressing synth lines & gorgeous soft
guitar, subtle understated beats
merging with a kinda lo-fi classical tinged aura. I can't think of many
comparisons atall as the easy hooks, classic melodies & spine
tingling chord changes are so sublime they're blinding me to any easy
reference. If
Arab Strap just watched Pingu & Bagpuss instead of gritty kitchen sink dramas & horror movies, they'd have made lovely music like this. Another contender
indeed!
