Got a CD by ELECTRIC PENGUINS & remain unsure how to tackle it
other than to say track 5, 'Transatlantic' is a superb modern electro pop tune
that somehow not only reminds me of 'Dance Hall Days' by Wang Chung but also
slightly of the awesome Blue Ribbon album on Bluebell. There's
some seriously fresh stuff going on here with a kind of electro acoustic vocoder
thing, half Flaming Lips, half Ben Folds Five on one track .
There's some understated piano & atmospherics throughout, drifting vocals
& bittersweet moods. i want to investigate further but overall this, on the
surface, appears to be a really good CD from this Irish group. On Psycho
