YVAT is a name that I wasn't familiar with unit the latest Cactus Island
three incher landed this morning. Amazingly this dude has managed to
fit 7 tracks on here. This is probably one of the better releases in
this series. Not that I didn't like the last few, but this one,
possibly because there are more tracks seems to explore more ideas.
It's the usual
Cactus Island warm / lush electronica but this gets ever so slightly more tricky / experimental and wouldn't be out of place on
Skam
with some of the discordant, wonky machine sounds. There are plenty of
pretty noises and melodies though like on the sublime 'Air Eddy'. Ltd
to the usual 250 in this series and totally worthy of the collection.
