Something good now. I came across AK MOMO sometime back when I was perusing
MP3's online cos I fancied finding something new and exciting. I remember hearing a
track by 'em called Women To Control which I thought was brilliant. I've
patiently waited for the album to come in (it's been out in America for ages)
and finally it is here. By jehovah it's been a wonderful experience so far. Immediately I can smell
an enormous whiff of KateBush. Not the new pompous gear about pigeons but the
classy old gear when she was a bit more of whacked out young hippy. Also my
nose-o-meter picks up an odour of Cocorosie and that sort of lovelyness. It's
less folksy than Banhart's crazy birds but it's got a similar feel. The guy on
the cover looks just like a young Michael Gira while the woman is looking sultry
eating a flower. Not an easy job I can say. I tried looking my sexiest in my
local garden centre when the cops came to arrest me after eating flowers and it
didn't work for me.....

What their label says...
Gorgeous debut by duo comprised of AK von Malmborg on Vocals, Optigan, and Whistling and Mattias Olsson (Nanook Of The North, Pineforest Crunch, Änglagård, etc.) on Optigan, Mellotron, and Orchestran. Recorded at Mattias' Roth Händle studio in Stockholm. A positively spellbinding outing highly recommended to fans of Portishead, Massive Attack, and Kate Bush.
