White Hats' the latest album from the talented NIOBE. 13 Tracks of thoughtfully crafted, gentle acoustic music that has a romantic almost magical feel. She
collaborates with Bastian Wegner, St. Lindemer, Wechsel Garland, Chris Beemster, and
Marcus Schumacher.
There's a very atmospheric, nostalgic mood. It's very difficult to
describe this
album as it doesn't really fit into any specific genre. The vocals at
times sound old fashioned like they could be from the 50's and some of
the
strings on here are very emotive and dramatic. An interesting album and
probably the best thing I've
reviewed so far this week. If this doesn't grab you on first listen
then I reckon a couple of spins and you'll be seduced by her sweet
vocals and charmed by the pretty melodies. But
don't listen to me, I've been listening to far too much doom at home
this week. Not that you will, no-one
listens to me....weep...
