The Caretaker is a mysterious acquaintance of V/VM, given to producing the aforementioned dark ambience that has the same effect as the daleks did when I was 7 (my girlfriend's little boy has no fear of such things & even laughs at the cybermen! How cool is that?) This is the sound of the pipes in that warehouse an hour after the police have raided, the sound below the ground as the machines wage war on the few remaining rebels in The Terminator, the sound a mouse hears when a steamroller goes past in the distance, the haunting, digital moans from the bowels of Hades. The sounds of slow moving nightmares in bleak deserted, crumbling hospital corridors. The enigmatic Caretaker hears all these sounds from his cobweb strewn broom cupboard, where he lurks, licking his dry lips, listening...LISTENING.....LISTENING. This is uneasy listening music. The eerie sound of sound. This is a 6 CD box set. Yes 6 CDs.
