There was a time here (once upon a time...) that when a new Boards Of Canada
release arrived, things would stop while we sat and listened to the
treats on offer. The office pets would stop ruining the place, clocks
would stop and the phone would go off the hook. Telling times are afoot
cos when this new
Boards Of Canada EP arrived it was banged on and by the end of it I'd kind of forgotten it was on. A shame really.... Anyway the new
Boards Of Canada EP is in called 'Trans Canada Highway' and it's got 'Dayvan Cowboy' on there, a remix of said track by
Odd Nosdam
(reasonably pointless) and 4 new tracks which drift in and out of
comatosed consciousness.
'Left Side Drive' and 'Skyliner' are cracking tunes having said that
and they're vintage Boards gear (especially the latter). They're not
gonna win over any new fans with this one but it will keep the rabid
ones out there happy for a wee while no doubt. On 12"/CD which both
come with a limited promo DVD of
'Dayvan Cowboy'. Be quick cos they won't be around forever!
