And finally I have the new King Biscuit album called Black Gold. This is the project by Beta Band front man Steve Mason. He's always inventive this guy. He's got his own style and if you dig it then you'll dig this. If you've never heard him then he's sort of a chanter, hitting very carefully picked and limited notes. Vocal delivery is at times beautiful other times trancing. This record does feel very personal and free allowing him to go wherever his imagination takes him. Enough ideas to keep you interested throughout. Its a hypnotic piece of work that puts Darren Brown to shame.( Hope its got no subliminal hidden kill message in it) Maybe sometimes he keeps a loop going a bit long but overall I think its a fantastic outing for the lad. Great stuff.
