Casiotone for The Painfully Alone is a strange one. Either a
sickbucket inflicting display of miserablist self-pitying indulgence or a canny
purveyor of some of the sweetest paeans to seemingly eternal single life, you
decide. I quite dig the dude. He writes some cool tongue in cheek electro pop
numbers that combine the hazy sadness of Grandaddy with the dramatic tear
stained pop of The Magnetic Fields. Also see Thee More Shallows
embellishing some of their ace heartbreak classics with a drum machine &
toytown keyboards. Or an electro Smog in a really shitty
bedsit. Melancholy, beautiful & utterly charming. On Tomlab is this
