I cocking love Fortdax. Well that's not 100% accurate but his
music is just a little bit more than useful. He is a nice bloke though and he's
utterly arsed off with me writing his recording moniker as Fort Dax rather
than Fortdax. To which I can understand his frustration... I am a numpty
mind you and he knows that so let this be some sort of lesson to someone (if
there is in fact any point to what I've just said). His new album on Very
Friendly called Divers (not Di Vers) is a work splendid album of almost
mythic goodness. He very kindly sent me one so I've been absorbed in it for a
while now and I can confirm the twinkliest man of twinkletown has outdone
himself here with an absolutely tremendous piece of electronic lovelyness.
It's nigh on faultless aside from the last track which goes a bit too M83 (ie
pompous and grandiose) for me but then that's just my taste. I've always felt M83
should really stop what they're doing right now cos it's upsetting me.... Still
it's not all about me is it. Flippin' marvellous album.... CD only am afraid....
