I really quite enjoyed this new Songs of Green Pheasant CD - its
winsome acoustic music that sounds like it has been recorded in a fog. It has a
lovely hazy feel to it. The vocals recall Simon and Garfunkel or Kings of
Convenience and the first few songs do recall the latter quite heavily but they
have a much more reverb drenched sound. Later on there are some wonderfully
haunting songs - hints of Jose Gonzales and Iron and Wine but drenched with a
northern English melancholy like the weird quiet end of Babybird or stuff like
Gnac and the Montgolfier Brothers. Really lovely and highly recommended. On
Fat
Cat.
