Stereolab release their 1st new single in some time Captain Easychord confused me senseless. Beatlesy in places and very odd. Loads of different stuff happening all over the place and it will take you 3-4 listens to work out what's going on. Very different for them and I really enjoyed it but am still baffled. It's not an electronic jazz odyssey, it's got trumpets. I would say it's the alternative French mellow Bohemian Rhapsody and once you've heard it a few times I think you'll probably understand where I'm coming from. A total shock after some of their recent records but this is great. The only bad thing about it is that's it's too short. Fantastic. By the way the 12" is super lovely extra ltd to one per person as there's small amounts pressed due to collapsing rivers.
