Scenester loathers The Cribs are back with a cracking new single 'Mirror
Kissers', a prime slice of their skewed US art pop meets Brit rock suss. We
think they write really top tunes here at the towers, comparing them in passing
to the likes of Ash when they were in their naive, breezy heyday (afore that
twatting metal fixation became apparent - berks). The production's really interesting,
quite echo-ey, fuzzy & compressed & the tune has bags energy, being
another bitter swipe at all those shallow walberts who grab hold of rising bands
shirttails & pose at hopeless gigs in "trendy" London dives. I
think Menswear started all that guff didn't they? Bunch of gimps they
were....Anyway, the CD has a cover of 'Modern Way' by top Leeds buds Kaiser
Chiefs Two 7"s on different punk rock vinyl. I bet It's fun working in a
pressing plant these days!
