El Goodo new CD on Placid Casual. The first track comes across
like Jesus and Mary Chain cavorting with Grandaddy. Kind of sludgy
sounding. It brightens up on the second track with some bright folk rock that
sounds like The Byrds early Primal Scream, Brian Jonestown
Massacre. Very 60's sounding. The CD carries on in the retro 60's vein with
harmonies and jangly guitars. Not sure how strong the songs are on first
listen but it does sound pretty good with lots of references to Love and The
Hollies & stuff like that. Impressive.
