Cocorosie are back with a new album on that Touch & Go label. The twisted folk scene continues with the 2 Cocorosie girls (and scary earth mother in tow from the pics inside) bringing their own mark to this blossoming scene with their brand new 2nd album. Which features other luminaries like Devendra Banhart, Antony (without his award winning Johnson), Diane Cluck, Jana Hunter and the entertainingly named Spleen. There are more contributors but I'm not really that interested. I heard a sampler to this a while back and it had hip hop beats with their warblings over it leading me to think it would be more progressive. Listening to the album as a whole it's not massively different to the last one. With the singers sounding exactly like a cross between Kate Bush and Banhart.... and some cats meowing and birds singing. Interesting but not as face blowing off as the 1st album on debut listen.
