The Rakes continue to perplex me by being a different band with every single
like they're trying to desperately ft in with what's the most fashionable that
week or summat but end up sounding like Squeeze however they try. Problem is,
these new wave chameleons also have the knack of writing utterly infectious
slabs of indie POP genius & should be adored. They also seem to be on a
different label every time too. V2, being their paymasters now, have unleashed
'Work, Work, Work (Pub, Club, Sleep)' as the 4th chart botherer. Roll on the
album boys!
