Thank God then that someone has chosen to re-issue
Cardinal's self titled debut CD somewhat of a lost classic in the 1990's.
Cardinal was Richard Davies and Eric Matthews who both went on to release a few
decent solo albums but this is probably their masterpiece. Its a beautiful album
with a late 60's tinge and chamber music overtones. At its best it recalls Love's 'Forever Changes' or anything by the
Zombies. Its not all plain
sailing - there are one or two tracks that don't quite work but still its
a million billion squillion times better than anything I have heard this year.
The re-issue comes with 11 bonus tracks and we have the Deluxe hand numbered (of
500) edition and the normal cheaper edition.
