The White Stripes are back with a new single. I always thought these were a
tad over rated and since De Stijl they've been a bit rubbish aside from the odd
song. Elephant was really rubbish, come on you can admit it now..... good sleeve
mind you. As has the new single funnily enough with Meg playing kettle drums
with some kids. So what do I think of the new single? Surprisingly I think it's
fantastic. An enormous slab of catchy blues filled pop with hoards of piano
filling up the air. Tremendous stuff indeed. Bizarrely enough there's a 12"
which has a High Contrast (Drum 'n' Bass) mix of Blue Orchid which was a total
surprise to me. It works quite well oddly enough and we have a white label of it
for you collector type folks....
