What's a bit of extra money in your pocket eh? Especially when millions of
lives and the future of the planet are at stake. I was always the first one to
moan about that last Gravenhurst album - how it was over-rated etc etc. Well I
could be made to eat my words with this new one, as it shows a marked
improvement and shows why Warp were willing to stake their reputation on it.
This shows up more of the dark folk Gravenhurst was purported to make. It's
almost as if Radiohead had only ever listened to Nick Drake. I still think the
fellers voice needs to drop a notch or two, but still, some lovely fluid guitar
playing and a canny grasp of melody could make this a bedsit classic.
