I used to love Jon Spencer. Well not love him as such, that's reserved
for special people. I think possibly a more accurate description would be to say
I was a fan of his work. Orange rocks.... what an album. Since then I've found
his music to be slightly lackluster. His new album is more of the same pub rock
blues with collaborations featuring David Holmes, DJ Shadow, Dan The
Automator and the god Chuck D. You can hear a lot of David Holmes
in it and it's got a funkier feel than his recent stuff. To be fair to it it's
not actually that bad at all, I think I've just heard enough of his records
now....
