We have a new CD in by Melodium. It's their 2nd or 3rd album. Maybe their 4th. Feck knows, I'm not their keeper, how should I know? They've had singles out before on Static Caravan and a CD or 2 out on Disasters By Choice. They've always done the melodic electronic thing with a degree of panache. This is more of the same with much more of a wierd feel to it bringing Hypo to mind without it being quite as mental. It's still eminently tuneful and way better than most of the melodic electronica which comes in week in week out.  It's almost like proper songs made with electronics rather than it being rammed with long drawn out nonsense. It sounds very French too which is an odd thing for me to pick out....

What their label says...

Melodium is the project of a 25 years old french man called Laurent Girard
melodium is in fact a contraction between "melodie" and "medium"
melodium's first release is a 7" on the english "static caravan" label
called "rhythmi"(last year) another 7" should be done really soon on the same label on these two 7" you can find concrete melodies (often sad ones) and weird beats in the CD called "quiet noise area" with the disastersbychoice label, the approach was less electronica, it is simply a blend of classical guitar and
piano melodies with electronic sounds and beats, the whole recorded with few
equipment in a shaft's mind, it is just an experiment and melodium's works
are now much more concerned with electronica.
