Belle & Sebastian worshippers Tompaulin have their early Track & Field singles packaged together on a comp called 'Everything Was Beautiful & Nothing Hurt' The opener is 'Slender' & sounds like t'lass from Saloon fronting a pub size version of U2. This as it happens is actually not a bad thing. The second tune is like 'Love Of The Common People' covered by Beautiful South or summat. This UNBELIEVABLY is not a bad thing either (!!??). I think It's the simple indie nature of the tunes. Keeps it within the bracket of naive & charming floss. I'd still rather develop herpes than listen to it again. Kirsty Macoll would turn in her grave. File under 'Fey'
