Brighton Krautrockin' lovelies Electrelane return to the fold with a brand spanking new album, 'The Power Out'. Steve Albini is the unlikely choice of engineer on this, their 2nd LP & 1st for new home, Too Pure. Dunno if Albini's mellowing with age but his 'sound' doesn't seem to make any inroads on any of the tunes here. A step on from 'Rock It to The Moon' with some really strong, catchy songs & a stunning male choral section on 'The Valleys'. A superb album all told, bar the squawking sax mess near the end which was just put on there to wind up my boss. (Well done ladies) CD is cheap on initial orders but the vinyl is a bit pricier being a posh gatefold job n'that.
