Here's a cute 3" CD with a bright picture of a sunny day, kids playing on swings and the sea. Sounds heaven.... loads better than the graffiti and sirens we get around here. It's well ghetto in Armley. Monoceros is a Spanish electronic music producer and he's been making music for years on the Expanding label and more recently on his own ace named label Imaginary Nonexistent. I have to not think about what that means as my head goes round in loops and I'm like a dog chasing its tail. On this cute 3" job you get 8 tracks of electronica veering on the pretty end of things with acoustic guitar and other nice sounds pervading. I'm enjoying the positivity I'm getting off it. Fuck I sound like a hippy. Somebody slap my face... This is pretty cool and it's gonna appeal to you folks who dig your melodic electronicacacacacaca....

What their label says...

Overview

After a break of nearly 2 years from his last work and finishing his album under the name 5alad in 2010, Monoceros comes back with some new tracks, some of them started at the time of "I feel apocalyptic today" and refurbished from old ideas into new textures (like "Capvespre", "Cells"), considering this EP more an annex of "I feel apocalyptic" rather than a complete new work, (like it was with "I feel apocalyptic today" to "Tales for silent nights").

Tracks in the line of "Little cowboys" ("Camper", that was the original guitar recording from which the guitar sample in "Moment of light" came from), organic textures mixing field recordings and processed sounds, strings, spoons, recording his own voice at "Sinus", and influenced by the previous work of 5alad in some sounds (The yamaha CX5m sounds and the commodore 64 drum at "Pizzicatto spoon").
This EP of 8 tracks closes the chapter of "I feel apocalyptic today", but also starts to show part of the next work, a monoceros "sèries monocromàtiques" focused on field recordings, without instruments.

A glorious afternoon talks about how a little daily moment can turn into a glorious day in our memory, and encourages to taste these moments and to enjoy life.
