Oh joyous day... Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Pavement reformed to show the world who is best... That's right, best I said. Back in the 90's Pavement we're the band for me. I liked Nirvana, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth etc. but it was Pavement that spoke loudest. When pre-ordering Pavement records at my local record store the owner would rip the piss out of me because 'he can't sing'. 'He can sing!' I said... 'Malkmus is fucking king' I would shout as I ran from the shop, Brighten the Corners in hand. When Wowee Zowee came out I took three days off school to smoke it up and get familiar... Some of the best days of my existence. When I saw them play Manchester as part of their final tour I spent the majority of the time crying with joy, I don't remember being happier. One of the most distinctive and influential bands of the 90s, Pavement accompany their mega world tour with a 23 track Best Of, compiled by the band and featuring a host of classic and obscure tracks. 'Quarantine The Past' is an excellent starting point for new comers to the Pavement sound and a delight for those already familiar. The remasters sound unbelievable. I imagine Malkmus singing these songs wearing a crown.

One of the most influential and distinctive bands to emerge from the American underground of the 90s.
2010 is the year of the long-awaited Pavement reunion tour, already including a sold out ATP weekend and four Central Park shows, headlining major festivals all over the world, and in general underlining the frenzy that’s awaiting the first performance of one of the most important bands of the 1990s in a decade. A whole generation of kids who never saw the band now have their chance.
This re-mastered 23-track Greatest Hits collection, chosen by the band, ranges from their Top 10 ‘modern rock’ hit ‘Cut Your Hair’ to nearly all their singles, some underrated album tracks, three choice pre-Domino cuts and one obscure compilation track singing the praises of REM.
