What to say about Melodium that hasn't been said in our reviews before? I dunno 'cos I can't be arsed going back and actually reading them all so apologies if I'm just repeating things. On Palimpse he's adeptly displaying his twinkly pastoral electronica skills, evoking all manner of scenes - woods with glitter floating through the air, memories of lazy countryside strolls and how I imagine a life lived in a snow globe to sound. That's not to say there's no darkness in his music whatsoever though, as tracks like 'The Hole' demonstrate more than ably, but to me it's a dreamy fairy tale darkness, still containing some sort of innocence.. Albeit perhaps threatened by some sort of sinister force. An expertly crafted CD to fire the imagination.
