Sludgy Newcastle psych-drone troupe Bong went down a bit of a treat here on the split LP they appeared on a little while back. That was released by the most honourable Blackest Rainbow, as is Gilgamesh Lives, a two part epic recorded live to an appreciative band of onlookers who were no doubt transported to a far hazier, smokier and wobblier place by the time the set concluded. Imagine old Earth droning away in the background while new Earth twangs away all Morricone in the foreground (exploring pretty much every permutation of the one real riff used), chuck in a bit of Grails' middle eastern ambience then slooooow it all right the way down and you might be getting a vague idea of what's going on here. Fans of Om or Barn Owl might want to have a peek at this super atmospheric release as well..

Amazing new live jams from Newcastle's BONG. Two long tracks of stoned slow motion drums, guitar, bass and sitar... This is a great follow up to their previous split LP we put out earlier in the year, edition of 1000 copies is bleak pro-printed card sleeve with cover artwork by Chris from Gnod and back artwork by the band.
