Nosferatu D2 are a to piece from Croydon fronted by Ben Parker whose lyrical style and emotive vocal has impressed a bunch of label dudes and media types around the UK. Entitled 'We're Gonna Walk Around This City With Our Headphones On To Block Out The Noise' Nosferatu certainly know how to string a catchy album title together yet the title does reflect the atmosphere of this music, angsty teenage odes to a tragic world they can't relate too. The music is an adhoc mix of artrock and emo influences with arrangements that are unmistakably raw, heartfelt and frantically played. It's all a bit dramatic for my liking but I reckon they've got a few things going on here. No doubt they'll grow and develop into a worthy contenders. For those of you with a taste for the lo-fi indie stuff like Sebadoh, The Wedding Present, Itch and the like.

What their label says...

It gives us great pleasure to introduce you to Nosferatu D2.

This London 2-piece can be the considered “the first band” of Audio Antihero, providing a deserving release for their debut album was then our sole intention. We're so proud to finally present Nosferatu D2's “We're gonna walk around this city with our headphones on to block out the noise” – the debut of the decade.
Nosferatu D2 have been praised by, XFM, Radio 1 and NME (but don't hold any of that against them)., with heaps of great press and exposure from publications of both the DIY and national variety, Nosferatu D2 fast established themselves as one of the most intriguing and uncompromising new bands in the UK.

The duo produce a most unmistakable sound; raw, frantic and emotive; yet fragile, delicate and unquestionably artful. Their ear for tone and unbelievable chemistry for rhythm and dynamics provide an exhausting and thrilling platform for vocalist Ben Parker (who has found fans in Jeffrey Lewis, Los Campesinos!, XFM’s John Kennedy and Radio 6’s Tom Robinson), the most unique lyricist in London to let loose, spilling every thought and feeling he couldn’t contain any longer onto the sticky streets of Croydon. Often amusing and endlessly tragic, Nosferatu D2's debut will be remembered. The hype is nice, but it’s with this album that Nosferatu D2 will earn their spot.
