The Cavalcade are a newly formed indie pop band hailing from the tropical enclave of Preston in the Northwest of England. That's Preston, the town that even makes Henry Rollins quake in fear. It’s a sad little town that deserves it’s own soundtrack of hushed bedroom pop lullabies. ‘Meet You In The Rain’ is that soundtrack and its hauntingly sad in its approach. The music is light and breezy yet full of heartfelt melodies and the vocals are so frail they occasionally break up completely. I like this EP even though it reminds me of things I’m not to fussed with. It’s got that early Smiths feel before they could afford to record in expensive studios. It also reminds me of the Housemartins and the bands associated with that scene. Not a bad thing for a lot of listeners…..Check it out.
