After a two year absence, Britain's finest indie song-smiths Athlete, are back on 17th August with ‘Superhuman Touch’. The first single from their forthcoming album ‘Black Swan’ out Monday 24th Aug.
As a single ‘Superhuman Touch’ couldn’t have a finer bloodline. Athlete are million album selling artists. They have won the Ivor Novello Award for their single ‘Wires’ from their 2005 double platinum selling album ‘Tourist’ and were Mercury nominated from the outset with their debut ‘Vehicles & Animals’.
Already being seen as a huge return to form the band’s fourth album ‘Black Swan’ is catapulted to life by the glorious opener ‘Superhuman Touch’. With the opening line, “I’m on fire and nothing’s gonna hold me back’, ‘Superhuman Touch’ is a statement of intent and indeed looks set to repeat the band’s successes.
Currently nearing the end of a 31 date British tour, Athlete culminate the shows on Friday 17th July at Somerset House, which was the fastest selling show of this summer’s Somerset House series.
