Motohiro Nakashima releases his (3rd I think??) album following two on the LO/ Loaf label. This new one is on the Schole label of Japan so it's a wee bit more local (to him anyway!). We Hum On The way Home is a delightful mix of pastoral sounding acoustic neo classic lovelyness. There's guitars, pianos, trombones, violins, cellos and percussion all hanging around together making a beautiful mix of loveliness. It's well constructed thought out instrumental music which is really emotive and moving. I thought this was gonna be more electronic as I'm sure some of the earlier releases by him I'd heard were electronic. My memory is shocking... I really can't remember. Anyhoo this is lush. The acoustic guitar and trombone work really well together like they're related (not like their married though as they wouldn't get on at all...). It's a thoroughly charming and delightful listen and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to have a really enjoyable 56 minutes of their life.

Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.

What their label says...

After the release of his 1st album And I Went to Sleep from British Lo Recordings, and I
Dreamt Constellations Song from its affiliated label LoAF in 2006, finally the awaited new
album is about to release from schole.
While the tunes of guitar and piano take a leading part, there are instruments such as violin,
cello, clarinet, trombone, and percussion for creating beautiful ensemble. As you all may
see in its title, family is the theme of this album. Putting a warm loving feeling towards to
his family, Motohiro Nakashima expresses and makes every listeners recall their scenes or
memoir with this piece of work.

After 3 years, the awaited latest comes out!!
An outstanding instrumental ensemble and
the melody gems made out of family-love.
He was born 1980 in Hiroshima and started composing musical
pieces from 1998, and began playing them in 2003. In 2004, his 1st
album and I went to sleep from Lo Recordings in London.
Nakashima also released some pieces in CD-R from his independent
label November Records. In this period of time, he has started to
handle soundtracks in motion pictures and some plays. In 2007,
Nakashima s 2nd album I dreamt constellations song was
released from Lo Recordings affiliated label LoAF, and he actually
made a live debut in London. His current composing style was
found by pursuing his own potential on playing ad-lib out of flashing
moment, and it gives the consistency such as warmth in the
melodies or flowing comfortableness.

・"schole" is a word from ancient Greek and means "spare moments."
・The word indicates a fertile yet unrestricted creativity which is able to develop independently in our spare time.
Though we of all people never cared, the world is filled with beautiful sounds. Those could be people’s laughter, chirping of crickets or birds, and
such.Music would always be there with us, we just need to listen and feel them."schole" is eager to bring up those tunes for designing luxurious daily
life.
