Part 2 of the Maps And Diagrams limited cork series is in. These are 3" CD's limited to 50 and they come in cork sleeves which are hand stitched. Hence the label being called Hand Stitched. It all makes sense.... This one is called Koom and it continues his path down a more ambient route. It's a lovely combination of acoustic guitars, electronics and possibly some found sounds. One of the tracks is almost Mogwai ish with it's ever so slight post rock acoustic guitar. Track 3 is more experimental and droney and dare I say industrial sounding. Very atmospheric and moving electronic music and so forth and so on.... Needless to say if you like the last one you'll like this as it's treading the same path of drifty floaty hissy and dronetronica. It's very warm sounding lush stuff and something you could quite easily butter up the missus with before an evening of night plumbing. We've got 40 and the release sold out in about 5 hours. Be quick!

What their label says...
* k o o m is the second installment on handstitched* by maps and diagrams, featuring four exclusive songs. this release is a continuation of the previous ep, * f o e l and as before it's released in ultra-limited edition of 50 copies, packaged in handstitched cork sleeves. the release was recorded in early 2009 and continues with an acoustic, drone-like edge. variations of drifting, subtle melody and field recordings inject a sense of realism into the music alongside fragments of distorted rumble and high frequency. this creates a space that once perforated from the outside elements of larger objects can be found inside.
