After the smash hit singles 'Apathy' & 'Stalking Skills', Swedens 3 pice indie femme janglers Liechtenstein unleash their first moderately sized album. 'Survival Strategies in a Modern World' is a beaut too. Opening with the primal drum thump, plaintive earthy guitar & wistful sing-song vocals of 'All At Once', it's swiftly followed by the Talulah Goshisms of 'Postcard' which adopts an embryonic Darling Buds' stark approach to Spector-esque harmonies! 'Sophistication' has an airy 'n' skanking post-punk aura without compromising the sweet multiple girl-group harmonies and by track four they really seem the modern incarnation of the much loved Heavenly. I'm going no further with my words as the 9 tracks contained on this record are all of a supreme quality, of mass appeal to quality post punk, C86 & Shoegaze lovers. Fans of Sarah recs, Pipettes, Vivian Girls and their adorable ilk may well clasp this record to their nervy, lovelorn busoms!
