Time for some proper guitar music eh! Some pure evil sounding dark occult type shit... Oh yeah it's a new CD called 'Malediction' from Skullflower and it's a bit of a stonker from the off. For this incarnation Matthew Bower is joined by Lee Stokoe on guitar, Samantha Davies on cello, percussion and cymbal, and Stuart Dennison on percussion and voice. The additional players add an extra dynamic to the thunderous walls of shockingly heavy guitar. The sound is just fucking brilliant, it sounds as though it's coming from another dimension and can only be touched by the likes of Keiji Haino. This is pure heavy noise rock in its most primal and brutal form. Mind blowing stuff as always. How their gear doesn't just frazzle and burst into flames is a miracle. Highly recommended and out on Second Layer Records in lovely 6 panel digi-pak with artwork by Bower and Samantha Davies.
