'Nine Stories' is an album by All Apologies on Symbolic Interaction. I'm not gonna play it as it's sealed (check the sound clips) and I thought it'd be more fun to try the remix CD which is housed in one of those odd ejector case things that isn't sealed! Maps & Diagrams feature twice on here but so does Makoto Yamaguchi with his stuttering glitch re-con of 'Air', Pawn's pastoral laptop version of 'Setting Sun' which chimes away in a dreamy fashion, The Scam Circle re-fix of 'Man From Desert' which has an old style drum break and a multi-hued kaleidoscopic blanket of jumbled but beautiful sound featuring everything from electric piano colliding with glacial synths & found sound. There's some great ideas and electronic adventures to be discovered over these 10 tracks which could well appeal to fans of the Hood/Bracken axis, dubby flecks, clever voice manipulation, stellar production techniques & a homely vibe. It's nice to hear some talented producers from the East as always!
