I remember a while back I had my eye on some Pan American album or other but I never got around to a purchase and I can't say it's something I've ever cried myself to sleep over. Perhaps it's because I've always found them to be almost the definitive solid Kranky band, all their releases are good but I don't think any of them are spectacular. White Bird Release is the same sort of deal based on the limited time we've had to listen to it, their perfectly honed drone is difficult to criticize but by the same token nothing in it ever really grabs me and shakes my bon bon. It's post-rock with a smothering of rich, droney ambience.. DEAL WITH IT.
