We've lost our promo of the new 'Psychedelic Guide to Monsterism Island' - the cool Pete Fowler curated compilation series. The last one was a bit whiffy, along the lines of a over-ripe stilton or some danish blue that had slipped under the fridge for a couple of weeks in July. This new one however is like a fine delicate brie, or a crumbly Wensleydale with fresh apricots. It's stuffed with excellent hauntological gems & eerie psychedelic library music from the likes of Advisory Circle, Jonny Trunk, Luke Vibert, Wolf People, Jerry Dammers, Cherrystones & Gruff Rhys amongst other retro-visionary lunatics.....Jesus there's 27 tracks on here! The tri-fold package is bound to be adorned with some Fowler-ish delights and will no doubt cause you to install a lava lamp in your front room & start wearing odd suits & a cravat whilst smoking some dubious herbs from a pipe made from the scarcest ivory tusks. Yeeeeaaaahhh mama.

OVERVIEW: Pete Fowler's Monsterism Island has long been known as a musical cornucopia and an album full of esoteric musical treats makes perfect sense. This CD contains original compositions from some of the underground’s most intrepid musical explorers. Spanning monstrous rock fry ups, electronic exotica via psychedelic folk and spooky krautrock, and featuring members of The Super Furry Animals (Gruff Rhys), Jerry Dammers, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (Peter Brooke-Turner), The Future Sound of London (Brian Dougans, Gary Cobain), Beyond The Wizards Sleeve (Richard Norris), Luke Vibert, Cherrystones, Circulus, Belbury Poly, The Advisory Circle and Wolf People to name but a few, who unleash their most creative tendencies to bring you the kind of music you would only hear on Monsterism Island.
